Update an existing WordPress page or article
Update an existing WordPress item after checking its exact match and the effect on the live page.
Review the saved update
Open the existing content, make your changes and complete the before-publishing checks.
Open Publish and check the connected website and intended live URL.
Use the route for an item already published through Blue Kite
If Update this published page or Update this published article appears, review the latest draft and select its confirmation.
Select Update published page or Update published article. This updates the connected item at its saved WordPress ID and live URL. Then check the result in step 6.
If the task asks you to match an existing website item first, continue below.
Match an existing website page or article when asked
Select Check existing WordPress page or Check existing WordPress article.
This inspects the target without changing it. Wait for the matched-item result.
Confirm the matched item
Read the matched title, URL, status and type. Use Open the matched page in WordPress or the article link to confirm it is the right item.
Stop if the match is wrong and contact support.
Read the backup and replacement details, then approve
Check the explanation and confirmation carefully. A standard article can be updated at the same post ID. A page replacement, or a supported builder-controlled item, can use a new ID while retaining the original URL and preserving the old item as a draft.
Builder elements are not recreated as Elementor or Divi components. If a replacement uses a new ID, existing comments and integrations tied to the old ID stay with the old draft. Follow any separate menu-link action requested.
Select the confirmation, then Update this page safely or Update this article safely. If Blue Kite says automatic updating is not safe, resolve the message or contact support.
Verify the public result
Wait for verification, open the Saved live URL and check the actual page or article, images, links and mobile layout.
If an eligible previous version is preserved, restore it here when needed. If the result is uncertain, use the status check shown before retrying.
Need to change the address?
This help covers updating the intended existing URL. Use a separately reviewed redirect or page-and-redirect change for a different purpose. Do not create a second page to work around a failed match.
