Restore the previous WordPress version

Restore an eligible preserved WordPress version and check which version is public.

  1. Find the preserved version

Open the matching content in Blue Kite, then Publish. Look for Previous WordPress page preserved or the article equivalent.

Open the preserved WordPress draft if you want to inspect it first. This restore route appears only for an eligible saved replacement backup.

  2. Confirm the restore

Read the confirmation: the previous version becomes live again, and the Blue Kite version is kept as a WordPress draft.

Select the checkbox, then Restore previous page or Restore previous article. Wait for verification.

  3. Check the original public URL

Open the saved address and check that the expected version is now public. Check its images, links and enquiry action.

Read Blue Kite's result before attempting another update or restore.

Restore is missing or unavailable?

Not every update has this replacement-backup route. Follow an Update the connector to restore this backup message with connection help. Contact support when no safe restore is offered; keep the preserved draft.

For a plan's redirect, search or menu change, use that task's restore control instead; see planned WordPress improvements.
