Set up a blog page on your WordPress website

Keep an existing blog or review and publish a new supported WordPress blog page.

  1. Check whether the website already has a blog

Connect WordPress, then open Settings → Website → Blog index.

If a blog already exists, select I already have a blog on this website. This saves your choice and removes the reminder without changing the blog or its design. You can stop here.

  2. Enter the new blog page details

If no blog exists, set Page title, Page URL and an optional Short introduction.

Use a short URL part such as blog, not a complete address. Select Check blog setup.

Follow any message about an existing Posts page, occupied URL, homepage or permissions. Blue Kite does not replace those arrangements automatically.

  3. Review the proposed address and layout

Read What Blue Kite will do. Check the proposed public URL.

Choose Editorial grid, Broadsheet list or Spotlight feature under Choose the blog layout. Check the layout preview. Your saved appearance supplies its visual styling.

  4. Approve creation and publication

Select the confirmation only if this website has no existing blog index and you want this new one live.

Select Create and publish blog index. This creates the new page, assigns it as the WordPress Posts page and publishes it. Wait for the result.

  5. Open the new blog page

Select Open your blog page and check the public result. New published articles appear there automatically; saved drafts remain private.

If the outcome is unclear, check WordPress before trying to create another blog page.

Setup is unavailable?

Follow the reason shown by Check blog setup. An existing Posts page, homepage arrangement, occupied address or missing Administrator permission can prevent creation. Check the connector or contact support instead of replacing an existing blog.
